“Don’t ever let somebody tell you that you can’t do something, not even me. You got a dream, you gotta protect it. People can’t do something themselves, they wanna tell you that you can’t do it. You want something, go get it. Period.”
This line from the movie The Pursuit of Happyness always stuck with me.
But it connects to something even deeper.
Where do ideas come from?
Your imagination.
Before anything exists in the real world, it exists in someone’s mind first.
A company.
A technology.
A book.
A new invention.
Everything that exists today started as an idea that only one person could see.
As Albert Einstein once said:
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.”
Your imagination is a preview.
A glimpse of a future that has not happened yet.
And the reason people doubt your ideas is simple.
They cannot see what you see.
They cannot see the future you are imagining.
Everything in this world came from someone’s imagination.
At some point, airplanes sounded impossible.
The internet sounded crazy.
Electric cars sounded unrealistic.
But someone imagined them first.
Your ideas are the same.
Right now, they only exist in your mind.
You are the only one that can see them.
So when people doubt you, remember something.
They are not rejecting your vision.
They simply cannot see it yet.
Your real life begins in your imagination.
Hold on to that thought.
Keep the belief that it will happen.
If you want it enough.
Open up your imagination.
Because the future you are imagining today might be the world everyone else lives in tomorrow. 🚀
